 Olive Medical Centre provides a variety of general practice and healthcare services to the entire people of Kirwan and Townsville. Olive Medical Centre is also a teaching practice affiliated with the James Cook University school of Medicine and Dentistry.

At Olive Medical Centre, we strive to provide our patients with high quality and accessible health care services, including indigenous health care, minor surgical procedures and skin cancer management services. Our team of administration and medical staff are highly experienced and work diligently to make our patients feel valued and properly cared for.

We are open Monday to Friday 8.30am – 6pm, Saturday from 9.00am to 1pm  (including public holidays). With ample parking space available, Olive Medical Centre is located on 599 Ross River Road, Corner of Bamford Lane (Just 2 kilometres from Willows Shopping Centre).

Dr. George Eboh

Doctors That Care

Dr George Eboh is an Australian trained Specialist Family Physician, and qualified as a medical doctor in 2001. He has extensive experience in Community and Family Medicine gained through practice in government and private sectors in Australia and overseas. Dr Eboh has worked in Africa, West Indies, South Australia, New South Wales and currently in Townsville where he has been working since 2012. He provides mentoring to Registrars and Overseas Trained Doctors in preparation for Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).

Now at Olive Medical Centre, he engages in teaching and training of medical students of the James Cook University.

He is registered with the Australia Medical Board/Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and has special interest in surgical procedures and skin cancer medicine.

Dr Eboh obtained the Australian Medical Council Certificate in 2011, and was accepted into the fellowship of the RACGP in 2012.

Dr. Patricia Gutierrez

Doctors That Care

Dr Patricia is an International Medical Graduate from Peru, accredited by the Australian Medical Council and a Specialist Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Dr Patricia has more than 10 years of experience in Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, Paediatrics, Women’s Health, General Surgery and Orthopaedics. She has worked in rural and remote areas of Peru, as well as, in tertiary hospitals across Victoria, Canberra, New South Wales and Brisbane. Currently, she is undergoing formal Skin Cancer training to follow her passion for early diagnosis of Melanoma and Skin Cancer prevention. 

She has special interests in Women’s and Children’s Health, Aboriginal Health, Skin Cancer prevention and Sports Medicine.

Dr Samir Puthalakath

Doctors That Care

Dr Samir Puthalakath, MD/BMSc, trained at Monash University in Victoria, graduating in 2020. He has previously worked across rural and regional Victoria in Hospitals and General Practice Clinics. He is currently undertaking his General Practice training through RACGP, and has moved to Townsville to complete this.

Dr Samir has experience in Women’s health, Children’s health and chronic disease management.
